Cloud Engineer - Government Cloud Platform (AWS/Azure)
6-month contract | Federal Government | Multiple locations | Baseline clearance
We are partnering with a large Federal Government agency to engage an experienced
Cloud Engineer
to help design, build and operate its enterprise cloud platform.
This role sits within the agency's
Cloud & Digital Platforms
team and will focus on building secure, scalable and compliant cloud infrastructure across
AWS and whole-of-government cloud services
.
You will work alongside a Lead Cloud Engineer to support the agency's Cloud Roadmap, modernise its cloud estate and enable secure adoption across business systems.
What you'll do
* Design and operate
enterprise cloud environments
across AWS, Azure and government cloud platforms
* Build and maintain
secure landing zones
, networking, IAM and cloud guardrails
* Implement
government security controls
aligned to ISM and PSPF
* Optimise cloud environments for
cost, performance and reliability
* Support cloud adoption across multiple teams and vendors
* Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers and stakeholders
What we're looking for
* Strong experience in
cloud infrastructure/cloud platform engineering
* Hands-on expertise with
AWS and/or Azure
in complex enterprise or government environments
* Solid background in
cloud networking, identity and security
* Experience working with
multi-account cloud environments, automation and IaC
* Comfortable working in
regulated environments
and under government security frameworks
* Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders

* Australian Citizen with ability to obtain
Baseline clearance
