As Head of Workplace Health & Safety, reporting to the Chief Risk and Legal Officer, you will lead the strategic direction for workplace health and safety across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and alignment with operational goals.
This is a full-time role based in West Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Geelong, or other suitable locations.
Responsibilities include:
1. Developing safety strategies aligned with business objectives across Australia and New Zealand.
2. Monitoring safety performance, conducting audits, and analyzing trends to prevent hazards and mitigate risks.
3. Leading emergency response procedures and supporting the business during critical incidents.
4. Engaging with stakeholders at all levels to promote a safety-first culture.
5. Ensuring compliance with local and international safety regulations and industry best practices.
6. Collaborating on Business Continuity Plans and recovery processes.
7. Managing and mentoring the safety team to achieve strategic safety goals.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Minimum 10 years of safety leadership experience, preferably in health or human services.
2. Deep understanding of ANZ safety regulations and standards.
3. Degree or certification in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
4. Strong analytical skills and commitment to continuous improvement.
5. Excellent communication and stakeholder influence skills, including with senior management and regulators.
6. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within Australia and New Zealand.
