Job Title: Animal Facilities Officer
Overview:
This role is responsible for ensuring the maintenance of high-quality animal housing and providing timely and efficient care and welfare to all animals entering the facility, within a safe and welcoming environment.
* Maintaining and cleaning of animal housing
* Disposal of solid wastes
* Daily feeding & watering of all animals
* Providing regular enrichment to all animals
* Ensuring that animals are accommodated in accordance with industry best practice
* Conducting suitability assessments - including temperament, behaviour, age, and health - of all animals being considered for rehoming or rescue
* Experience in animal welfare, handling and caring for animals
* Ability to communicate with all levels of staff, volunteers, the public and community groups
* Ability to problem solve, and attention to detail
* Proven computer literacy skills
* Good time management and organisational skills
* Ability to work under general supervision and as part of a team
* Ability to adapt to changing working environments, technology, work priorities or organisational needs
