The role
Overview
- Enforce Council's legislative and policy responsibilities, particularly in parking enforcement and other regulatory duties, to improve community amenity and safety.
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant legislation and Council policy.
- Monitor compliance with parking restrictions, littering and unattended property.
- Provide an initial Council response to other regulatory matters when required.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications relevant to the role or 3 years demonstrated experience in a regulatory role.
- Demonstrated experience in issuing Penalty Infringement Notices for parking offences.
- Ability and experience in carrying out investigations and collecting evidence from a variety of sources to determine suitable action.
- Organised and able to complete forms, records and other written documents to required corporate standard.
- Solid working knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Public Spaces (Unattended Property) Act 2021, Australian Road Rules 2014 and associated regulations.
- Well‐developed interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution, negotiation and customer‐service skills.
- Basic to intermediate proficiency with MS Word, Outlook and internet‐based programs.
- Class C NSW Driver's Licence.
