We're excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Payroll Officer to join our dedicated People & Capability Team in Adelaide on a 2-year contract.

Under the guidance of the Payroll & HR Reporting Lead, you'll play a vital role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services for the Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation (ILSC) and its subsidiaries, including ILSC Employment. 
In this role, you'll do more than just process payroll - you'll help shape the employee experience. 
Working closely with both HR and Finance teams, you'll contribute to effective operations, accurate data, and valuable workforce insights that support strategic decision making across the organisation. 
You'll also have the opportunity to build your skills in workforce reporting and analytics and act as a trusted backup to the Payroll & HR Reporting Lead during times of leave, making you a key contributor to our team's success.

Responsibilities 
Manage end-to-end payroll for the ILSC and its subsidiaries, ensuring accurate and timely payments. 
Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues promptly, escalating complex matters as necessary. 
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements. 
Handle complex payroll matters including terminations, redundancies, and specialised entitlements. 
Use your HRIS and reporting skills (CHRIS21 experience highly regarded) to analyse data and support improvements. 
Ensure compliance with legislative requirements by preparing and submitting statutory payroll reports, including Single Touch Payroll (STP), payroll tax, superannuation contributions, and compliance audits. 
Back up the Payroll Manager and HR Reporting Lead when needed to keep operations running smoothly. 
Support HR reporting, payroll projects, and process improvements. 
Share knowledge and collaborate with your team to deliver high quality payroll services.

The Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation (ILSC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established under the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander 2005 Act (Cth) ('the Act') and subject to the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013.

Team and reporting 
Reporting to the Payroll & HR Reporting Lead, you will: 
Have a key role supporting payroll operations and reporting within the People & Capability team, and across HR, WHS, Indigenous Employment and Engagement, and Learning and Development functions to support the ILSC's work under the ATSI Act.
