We are seeking a passionate and supportive Dean of Physical Education, Outdoor Education and Health to join our team in an ongoing position commencing on the 1st January.
This role consists of a 0.2 FTE Sports Coordination component, a 0.2 FTE Dean of Department Duties component, and a 0.6 FTE Teaching component.
The successful candidate will lead the HPE department—overseeing curriculum, staff, resources and sport programmes—while working with senior leaders to ensure high-quality planning, teaching and assessment across Years 7–12.

Key Responsibilities
Provide instructional leadership, feedback, mentoring and professional development for staff while fostering a collaborative, innovative team culture.
Manage departmental budgets, resources and facilities to ensure safe and effective learning environments.
Support beginning teachers toward full TRBWA registration and oversee high-quality long- and short-term planning across the department.
Coordinate interhouse carnivals, interschool competitions and after-school sport in the Secondary School.
Oversee curriculum and assessment processes, maintain subject expertise, and ensure staff are informed about PD opportunities, SCSA updates and relevant resources.
Conduct regular department meetings, promote teamwork, and foster curiosity, innovation, problem-solving, resilience and confidence in HPE students.
Qualifications
Acceptance of SCEA's Statement of Faith and alignment with the College's Christian ethos.
Telugu: Tertiary qualification in Education with experience in Physical Education, Outdoor Education and Health.
Current TRBWA teacher registration.
Strong curriculum knowledge and broad involvement in sports and physical activities.
Ability to promote participation and excellence in sport; models an active, healthy lifestyle for students.
Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Selection Criteria
Demonstrated experience as an innovative Dean of Physical Education, Outdoor Education and Health teacher.
Proven leadership and management experience.
