About the Role
Jendata is seeking an experienced Service Technician to join our growing Townsville team.
This role focuses on service, maintenance, fault finding, repairs, and small upgrades across:
* Data & Fibre systems
* Electronic Security (Alarms, Access Control, CCTV)
* Audio Visual systems
You will attend client sites across commercial, industrial, and government sectors, ensuring systems operate reliably and safely.
Your Responsibilities
* Fault finding and troubleshooting system issues
* Repairs and maintenance of existing installations
* Small upgrades and system expansions
* Testing and certification of cabling and equipment
* Programming and commissioning security and AV systems
* Completing service reports and documentation
* Communicating clearly with clients and project managers
* Following WHS and company procedures
Experience We're Looking For
Experience in one or more of the following:
Candidates must demonstrate a minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in telecommunications or security systems.
Communications
* Structured cabling (Cat6, Cat6A)
* Fibre optic systems
* Rack tidy-ups and patching
* Testing and certification
Electronic Security
* Alarm systems
* Access control
* CCTV (IP systems)
* Door hardware integration
Audio Visual
* Commercial displays and projectors
* Audio systems and microphones
* Video conferencing systems
* AV-over-IP systems
Essential Requirements
* ACMA Open Cabler Registration (with endorsements)
* ACMA Open Cabler Registration must include both Structured Cabling and Fibre Optic endorsements.
* Current Driver's Licence
* White Card
* Strong fault-finding skills
* Ability to work independently
* Good communication and customer service skills
* This position is available to Australian citizens only.
Highly Regarded
* Fluke DSX / OTDR experience
* Working at Heights / EWP
* Class 2 Security Licence
* Electrical Licence
