The Opportunity
As the Clinical Manager/Educator, you will provide advanced clinical leadership and expertise to ensure the highest standards of care for our residents. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Residential Aged Care and working in collaboration with Facility Managers, this pivotal role combines clinical governance oversight with staff education and development, driving continuous improvement and compliance with best practice standards. You play a pivotal role in staff clinical education and oversight and will be responsible for implementing annual education plans, evaluating training effectiveness and supporting strategic objectives.
You will:
* Champion UPA’s Clinical Governance Framework, ensuring safe, evidence-based care.
* Lead the annual education and training plan, including mandatory training, competency development, and induction programs.
* Oversee clinical auditing, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Use data analytics and trend analysist to inform education and quality initiatives.
* Mentor and support nursing staff to deliver person-centred care aligned with UPA’s philosophy.
* Contribute to staff development, recruitment of new clinical staff, participate in performance evaluations and disciplinary actions in collaboration with People & Culture.
* Collaborate with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal health outcomes.
* Act as Facility Manager when required
This role will require you to travel between UPA services and work flexible hours.
What you will need
* Nursing registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
* Experience in residential Aged Care Services
* Minimum 5 years’ post basic registration experience including 3 years of experience within clinical leadership or education role
* Demonstrated experience in delivering clinical education is essential
* Strong leadership, mentoring, coaching skills to guide and develop teams
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
* Commitment to providing safe, high-quality care for residents.
* Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
* High level of flexibility and strong time management skills to prioritise and manage workloads efficiently.
* Incident investigation and root cause analysis skills
* Adaptability to changing care requirements and environments
* Demonstrated proficiency in using computer software and applications.
Desired:
* Infection and Prevention Control Certificate
* Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment
* Postgraduate qualifications in a specific nursing field such as Gerontology, Palliative Care, Dementia Care, Mental Health and/or Education (or working towards) with twelve months of clinical experience relevant to the qualification.
* Experience in implementing evidence-based practice, change management and clinical practice development.
