Overview
* Cessnock City Council are seeking a ‘Finance Business Partner’ to work within their Finance Team.
* To commence ASAP.
* Temp contract up to 10 months, with possibility of extension.
* Working 35 hours per week (Mon-Fri).
* Paying between $52 to $60 per hour + super.
* Working at the Council Administration Building, 62-78 Vincent St, Cessnock.
The Role
* Partner with key stakeholders from across the organisation to provide financial support and advice relating to Council’s financial activities.
* Provide accounting support for Council’s asset portfolio relating to measurement, reporting, and analysis of Council’s assets.
* Maintain Council’s services model including the attribution of costs to each service and the accounting necessary to track Council’s allocation of resources to each service.
* In collaboration with other members of the Finance team, assist with internal and external reporting, budgetary and treasury requirements.
* Deliver efficient and high-quality monthly reporting packs with performance analysis.
About You
The ideal candidate will:
* Be degree qualified in Accounting or Financial Management.
* Have previous experience working in a finance business partnering role.
* Have effective communication skills, providing sound advice, guidance, and support to a wide range of key stakeholders.
* Have the ability to work independently and possess strong decision-making skills.
* Be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Have previous working experience within local government (desirable).
