About The Role

We are currently seeking a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner to join our Bayside Peninsula Family Violence Team. This role delivers high quality, trauma informed case management to women and children who are experiencing or have experienced family violence.

As a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner, you will provide intensive, client-centred casework using the MARAM framework and a trauma informed, systems and developmental approach. You will support clients across various accommodation settings, including emergency and transitional housing, and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to promote safety, stability, and recovery.

This role includes participation in a crisis response and duty roster, and involves outreach work in the community and in emergency accommodation settings.

This role is located in Hastings (VIC), with outreach across the bayside peninsula. Max Term contract until March 2027

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver outreach case management to women and children impacted by Family Violence
* Conduct MARAM risk and needs assessment
* Partner with clients to develop safety plans
* Coordinate referrals and liaise with specialist services, ensuring clients are actively engaged in all decision making and planning
* Support victim survivors in emergency and transitional accommodation
* Facilitate access to financial support and brokerage
* Participate in crisis response and duty rosters
* Advocate for clients and collaborate with care teams
* Maintain accurate case notes and reporting in line with program standards

About you

* Appropriate tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or a related tertiary discipline is essential
* Experience in Family Violence outreach case management and risk assessment
* Knowledge of the MARAM framework and information sharing schemes (FVISS/CISS)
* Experience working with high-risk clients and and those with complex needs and behaviours
* Strong communication, advocacy, and collaboration skills
* A current Driver’s License, Police Check, and Employee Working with Children Check

Family Violence Minimum Mandatory Qualifications under Recommendation 209

As per the minimum mandatory qualifications, all candidates wishing to apply for this role must be able to demonstrate that they:

* are considered EXEMPT under the policy OR
* hold a Bachelor of Social Work or other equivalent qualification OR
* have minimum 5 years relevant professional experience, OR a related qualification as per the mandatory minimum qualification requirements. OR
* hold significant cultural knowledge and experience or lived experience, and have faced barriers to educational pathways
