Role Summary:
School Grounds Manager
The School Grounds Manager will be responsible for ensuring the high-quality presentation and sustainability of the school’s gardens and outdoor spaces. Garden Operations:
* Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of all gardens, greenhouses, and outdoor spaces.
* Implement gardening projects to enhance the school’s grounds and create a welcoming atmosphere for students and staff.
* Maintain accurate records of gardening activities and monitor plant health.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and execute gardening projects to enhance the school's grounds, focusing on sustainable practices and efficient resource allocation.
* Collaborate with the Grounds team to maintain a safe and attractive environment for students and staff, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
* Participate in regular meetings with the Grounds team to discuss ongoing projects and share ideas, promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
* Minimum 2 years of experience in horticulture or a related field, preferably in a school setting or similar environment.
* Degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, or a related field (desirable), demonstrating knowledge of horticultural principles and practices.
* Ability to lift heavy equipment and plants, requiring physical stamina and strength.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including students, staff, and external partners.
