Overview
Scotch Oakburn College is seeking two part-time Learning Support Assistants to join our dedicated team on our Penquite Campus. Hours of work are between two and four days per week, Monday to Friday from 8:15am to 3:30pm (days to be negotiated with successful candidates).
In this rewarding role, you'll provide crucial support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum and reach their full potential. Through a collaborative planning model these students are provided with adjustments to participate and progress through the curriculum within an inclusive model. Learning Support Assistants work to enhance individualised and small group learning support in the classroom lessons.

What you'll be doing
* Assist teachers in the delivery of tailored educational programs for students with special needs
* Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them develop academic, social and life skills
* Work collaboratively with teachers, parents and other specialists to develop and implement individual learning plans
* Support students in the classroom, during activities and on excursions as needed
* Maintain detailed records and documentation on student progress
* Participate in professional development to continuously improve your skills and knowledge
What we're looking for
* Experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role, preferably in a secondary school setting
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers and families
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
* Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs
* A current Working with Children Check and National Police Certificate Schedule 1 Record
