Job Description
The role of an Auxiliary Firefighter is a critical position within the fire and emergency services sector. As an essential member of our team, you will be responsible for responding to emergency incidents, promoting community safety, and contributing to the upkeep of station facilities.
Key Accountabilities:
* Respond to fire and other emergency incidents in a safe and effective manner
* Promote community safety and emergency preparedness through education activities
* Develop and maintain competencies through regular drills and training courses
* Maintain required attendance standards for emergency incidents and training
* Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment
* Contribute to incident reporting and general station administration
* Promote a positive team approach and communicate effectively with QFES personnel and the general community
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:
* Employers written consent to attend incidents and emergencies
* Live or work within a reasonable distance of auxiliary fire station
* Australian Permanent Resident Status
* Attending 75% of regular drill and training sessions
* Obtaining an MRV licence within 12 months of employment
* Participating in ongoing skills acquisition and maintenance programs
