Job Title
This role plays a pivotal part in delivering high-quality support to meet the evolving needs of students, staff, and stakeholders. The Information Support Specialist assists clients with complex information finding and searching, provides expert judgment in managing competing priorities, and ensures effective outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality client services while using judgment and problem-solving skills to make effective operational decisions.
* Assist clients with complex information finding and searching, ideally within a higher education context.
* Develop and deliver engaging workshops, information sessions, or tours that actively involve students, enhance their information skills, and foster meaningful experiences.
The ideal candidate will have skills and experience as follows:
* Completion of a degree in librarianship or equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training, or experience.
* Demonstrated experience in the provision of consistent high-quality and effective client services.
* The ability to apply judgment and problem-solving skills to make operational decisions on the provision of resources and services within strict timeframes and with overlapping priorities.
* Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication, with the ability to effectively liaise and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to supervise and be responsible for monitoring the day-to-day operations of the Information Services team – including setting priorities and meeting service standards.
