Role Overview
The primary purpose of this role is to deliver high-quality survey and design services for capital works and maintenance projects related to Richmond Valley Council's roads, drainage, and infrastructure assets.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the development and implementation of Council's asset management procedure through delivering survey and design services in accordance with relevant legislation, policy, and strategic plans. Provide recommendations, information, and advice as required to inform effective decision-making.
* Apply sound engineering, environmental, financial, and safety principles (codes, policies, procedures, standards) to deliver a wide range of works and capital projects in a timely, effective, and proficient manner.
* Assist in preparing documentation for infrastructure projects to enable works to be completed on time, within budget, and to required quality assurance standards. This includes calculating quantities, cost estimates, time schedules, traffic management plans, and materials lists.
* Contribute to effective project management of projects undertaken and delivered by the Council, aligned with Council's strategic objectives and asset management procedure.
* Prepare and maintain accurate and timely documentation for works, reports, and correspondence to internal and external stakeholders.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and services provided by the role and team to ensure efficient, safe, and effective delivery of objectives and maximise resource utilisation.
* Contribute to a positive safety culture within the organisation to ensure a safe workplace for our people and the community by monitoring compliance with policies, procedures, legislation, specifications, project plans, and other required documentation.
About You
We are seeking a motivated individual with strong administration skills and a focus on safety. You should possess:
* Flexibility, adaptability, and responsiveness to change.
* The ability to work well within a small team and autonomously.
* Experience in design, surveying, and civil construction projects.
Requirements
We require:
* A Certificate IV in Engineering or equivalent OR 3 years' experience in a related environment.
* A Construction Induction Certificate (WHS White Card).
* A Class C Driver Licence.
Work Arrangements
This is a full-time position with a 70-hour fortnight. Salary: Range from $65,452 to $75,270 pa + 11.5% super.
