About Us
The Department of Treasury and Finance plays a vital role in supporting the Victorian Government's economic policies. Our team strives for excellence in financial and economic management to improve the lives of all Victorians.
Budget and Finance Division is responsible for delivering the State Budget and monitoring financial and operational performance across Departments. We provide advice on departmental and agency reviews, as well as budget guidance to Cabinet and sub-committees.
Our team brings together experts with financial management, policy analysis, and program oversight skills to provide timely and high-quality budget and spending advice. We work to deliver value for money and improved outcomes for Victorians.
We operate in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, reflecting our influence and proximity to government decision-making. Team members support each other and work collaboratively, adapting to new challenges and priorities as they emerge.
Portfolio Analysis Group provides advice on resource allocation to the Treasurer on various issues. The Group is the first point of contact with DTF for departments regarding budget submissions, finance matters, and performance reporting. PA offers expertise on policy and programs, monitors departmental performance – both financially and service delivery-wise – and promotes sound financial management of state fiscal resources more broadly.
Analysis, Innovation, and Improvement
