We have an unique opportunity for an **Area Sales Manager (NSW) **to join our _Abbott Rapid Diagnostics (ARDx)_ business. This role is based in **Sydney**.
Reporting to the Head of Commercial Sales, this role is responsible for the business development, relationship management and commercial success for the Abbott Rapid Diagnostic product portfolio into the NSW market. This role is also responsible for managing and developing a Commercial Account Manager who is also located in Sydney.
This role offers a unique blend of people leadership and key account management with customers predominantly located in the Sydney metro area. This is a high performing territory with a longstanding loyal customer base.
**Main responsibilities are, and not limited to**:
- Identify, develop and implement business strategies to grow the NSW market for Abbott Rapid Diagnostic products.
- Identify business opportunities; develop strategies to address those opportunities; and co-ordinate the implementation of those strategies within the Abbott organization.
- Effective selling of Abbott Rapid Diagnostic products and solutions to potential customers, including but not limited to Point-of-Care Coordinators, Lab Managers, Lab employees, Respiratory Care Managers, clinical employees, primary care providers, and hospital administration.
- Regularly provide customer, product and competitive market feedback to marketing and other Abbott functions to support our successful achievement of strategic imperatives.
- Professionally represent ARDx at local/regional sales and professional society meetings, congresses and trade shows.
- Develop profitable relationships with senior business management and key opinion leaders
**Who we’re looking for**:
- Bachelor Degree in Science / Medical Science and related background.
- At least 5 to 10 years working in a sales/business development role within a commercial healthcare organization
- Desirable to have previous people management experience of sales personnel in a health care organisation
- Proven sales experience and success, direct to clinical laboratory, point-of-care testing, clinics and other diagnostic settings along with clinical/medical healthcare workers in the hospital environment or within pharmaceutical or medical devices
- Demonstrated history of high-level sales performance and career progression over this time.
- Working history of developing business opportunities at the highest level of customer organizations.
- Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills; be customer focused and empathetic
