An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Biomedical Scientist to join the Histology Team within HSSL in Brighton. This ongoing, full-time locum position offers a competitive hourly rate of £21 and the opportunity to work across multiple sites, broadening your professional exposure.
This role is ideal for a skilled Biomedical Scientist with at least two years of histology experience, looking to further develop their expertise within a supportive and dynamic laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Duties
Perform microtomy and specimen cut-up procedures with accuracy and attention to detail.
Prepare and process histological samples to maintain high diagnostic quality standards.
Quality & Compliance
Adhere to Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) standards and laboratory protocols.
Participate in quality control and quality assurance processes to ensure reliable and accurate results.
Work effectively within a multidisciplinary laboratory team across multiple sites.
Contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives and troubleshooting processes.
Laboratory Operations
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment safely and efficiently.
Manage laboratory data accurately, ensuring proper documentation and traceability.
