Crowne Plaza Canberra is hiring a Full-time Banquet Chef to join our team. As a Banquet Chef, you will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of our Food and Beverage outlets, including our Restaurant (Redsalt), Lume Bar, Crowne Meetings, and Room Service.
A little taste of your day-to-day
* Producing high-quality food and presentation with à la carte dishes and buffet style
* Following kitchen and hotel policies, procedures, and brand standards
* Maintaining cleanliness throughout the kitchen
* Paying close attention to presentation, garnishing dishes with precision and creativity to enhance visual appeal
* Leading collaboration with the kitchen team and fostering a positive, productive work environment
* Following HACCP regulations and guidelines
* Staying updated with new food technologies, modern presentation, and cooking techniques, and culinary trends
* Partnering with management to implement workplace health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives
* Coordinating and supervising the preparation and presentation of food to ensure the highest quality at all times
* Preparing food, beverage materials, and equipment in advance for service periods
What We Need From You
* You must have valid working rights in Australia
* Industry knowledge and understanding of role expectations
* Commercial cookery certification
* Experience in a hotel kitchen or similar culinary environment is highly desirable
* A mix of skills, experience, personality, and passion
* Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with a positive "can-do" attitude alongside front and back of house culinary teams
