Job Description
Our Commis Chefs provide service between our a la carte and buffet environments. All roles focus on exciting guests with flair and enthusiasm, demonstrating a genuine passion for customer service and the kitchen. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, you will be a key part of a team responsible for delivering high-quality products to our lounge passengers.
What do I need?
* The ability to work a 24/7 rotating roster.
* A minimum Cert IV in cookery.
* The ability to pass a Federal Police Clearance for airport employment.
* Full Australian working rights.
Ideal candidates will have hospitality experience, including pans and larder operations, working in high-pressure environments, and possibly experience in a luxury 5-star setting—though this is not essential. More importantly, you should enjoy making others feel welcome, working as part of a team, and having fun at work. We can train and develop your skills to be exceptional.
Key responsibilities include:
* Assisting in ingredient preparation: chopping, slicing, dicing, measuring.
* Executing cooking techniques under senior chefs' guidance, such as grilling, frying, baking, sautéing.
* Following recipes and presentation standards.
* Assisting in dish assembly and plating.
* Adhering to kitchen safety protocols, including equipment use and hot item handling.
