Be part of an award-winning Local Council as a Technical Health Officer (Statutory Laws), communicating with the public, Council Staff and support the Public Health Protection Program.
- 3-month contract (with a possible extension)
- Based in Greensborough
- Pay rate: $31.45 - $34.75 per hour, depending on experience.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Communicate with the public on issues that impact community amenity including complaints, noise and other issues related to public health compliance
- Investigate and respond to all reports/complaints of alleged Public Health and Wellbeing Act enquiries and take appropriate action as per Council's processes.
- Develop, implement, and review registered procedures in Public Health and Wellbeing Act nuisances, Tobacco sales to minors and tobacco advertising, Public pool/spa compliance with health regulations and Unreasonable noise.
**Requirements and Qualifications**
- Investigation skills including collection of evidence such as interviews, photos, and samples for analysis.
- Well-developed oral and written communications skills
- A sound ability to prepare reports, letters and legal documentation
- Relevant Post-Secondary Qualification or relevant experience in a similar work field such as enforcement, prosecution or investigations
- Experience in investigative work in a customer-orientated position
- Current Victorian driver's licence
- Current Working with Children's Check
