Board Directors - Voluntary Board Positions

Board Directors - Make a Meaningful Contribution

The St Vincent de Paul Society Tasmania has been supporting Tasmanians since 1899, walking alongside people experiencing disadvantage with practical support, compassion, and respect. Today, with over 1,100 members and volunteers and a dedicated workforce delivering services across the state, our mission remains simple: to offer a hand up, providing compassionate care and critical services to those in need.

We are now seeking values-driven leaders to join our Board and help shape the next chapter of this work.

We are particularly interested in people with expertise in risk, governance and finance, including a strong interest in appointing a Treasurer.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute your skills in a way that makes a tangible difference across Tasmania.

About the role

As a director, you will:

* Provide strategic oversight and governance
* Strengthen our risk and financial stewardship
* Contribute to a collaborative, purpose-led Board
* Champion our mission in the community

What we are looking for

We are particularly interested in people with:

* Experience in finance, audit, risk or governance
* Previous Board experience (or strong transferable capability)
* An understanding of, or willingness to learn, the not-for-profit sector
* A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for people experiencing disadvantage
* A Treasurer appointment is anticipated as part of this recruitment.

What you need to know

* These are voluntary, Tasmania-based positions
* Appointment may be subject to becoming a member of the Society
* Standard compliance requirements apply (Police Check, WWVP, Director ID)
