About the role
Banana Shire Council is looking for a reliable and experienced Loader Operator to join our Construction Team in Taroom. In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for operating and maintaining Council plant/equipment, carrying out general labouring tasks, and undertaking traffic control duties as required. You'll work under limited supervision and be part of a team that values safety, service excellence, and collaboration.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Provide high quality specialist plant operation services including road construction and maintenance to the work teams throughout various locations within and outside the shire
* Maintain a high standard and consistent approach with the usage of all Council's plant
* Maintain and service plant and equipment daily, in accordance with operating procedures
* Provide support in the operation of other plant and equipment, as required
* Carry out general labouring duties, as required
You will have the following qualifications
* Queensland class 'C' driver licence
* Queensland General Construction Induction, White Card (formerly known as the Blue Card)
* Civil Construction – Front End Loader (LL) Competency

* Other Plant/Equipment Competencies
* Traffic Management Implementation Plan
* Traffic Controller Licence
