It is essential that the person we are seeking has the relevant competencies, experience, and qualifications - Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication. Our ideal candidates will have a proven high standard of performance, self-motivation, attendance, and punctuality, in return, you'll work with a great team fabricating equipment which we install in-house across the region at both Victoria and Macknade Mill.
This is a fixed term position through until June 2026 that will initially be based at Victoria Mill in North Queensland's Herbert region, known for its stunning landscapes, rich agricultural heritage, and a vibrant community. The Herbert region offers a fantastic lifestyle with a warm climate, beautiful beaches and a range of recreational activities, making it a great place to live and work.
Your Role in Action
Maintain & Repair: Install, maintain and repair structural steel, plant equipment, pressure vessels and pipelines to ensure safe, reliable operations. Perform fabrication and coded welding in line with engineering drawings and site standards. Fabricate with Precision: Interpret technical drawings to fabricate, assemble and modify components, carrying out inspections and preventative maintenance to maximise asset life.Empower the Next Generation: Provide guidance and leadership to apprentices and trainees, defining tasks and performance targets while offering valuable on-the-job training and feedback.Document with Precision: Ensure all work orders and permits are accurately completed while maintaining timesheets and standard reports for seamless Quality and Teamwork: Work within a collaborative environment, conducting inspections, identifying problems, and implementing improvements to ensure the highest quality standards.
Your Winning Combination
Our ideal candidate will hold a Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication, a current Confined Space certificate, a valid Safe Working at Heights certificate, and a current driver's license.
