About us:
The Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service covers a large geographic area with a diverse and growing population. This position is based at Babinda Hospital, and provides clinical practice training and supervision of less experienced Occupational Therapists, Allied Health Assistants and students.
The Allied Health Service Cassowary Hub is part of the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service. It encompasses three rural hospitals; Innisfail, Tully and Babinda and provides high quality Allied Health Services including Child Protection Liaison, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Social Work, Dietetics and Speech Pathology.
About your opportunity:
In this position you will...
* Apply high level professional and clinical reasoning and skills to provide safe and efficient rural generalist Occupational Therapy inpatient, outpatient, and residential aged care services in the Babinda Multipurpose Health Service across a broad range of clinical areas with minimal direct clinical practice supervision.
* Work collaboratively with a locally based Multidisciplinary Allied Health team, including a Physiotherapist and Social Worker, and outreaching services, including Speech Pathology and Dietetics, to ensure continuity of care and timely service provision.
* Manage and prioritise relevant waitlists, while also employing innovative strategies to meet demand in coordinating the delivery of an effective Occupational Therapy service.
