Asset Management Australia (AMA) is seeking skilled professionals to oversee the execution of maintenance outages at a coal export terminal near Mackay.
This is a fantastic opportunity for seasoned professionals who enjoy leading teams and delivering results on major industrial projects, while still valuing time at home, on the land, or managing personal projects.
The Opportunity
Take the lead in coordinating and supervising maintenance outage activities, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
Outages typically run for 1.5–2 months on a 4 days on / 4 days off roster, followed by a 1–2 month break.
This schedule offers the perfect balance: engaging project work during outages, and extended downtime to focus on family, property, personal projects, or simply enjoying a well-earned break.
Great for locals who want to be home each night while contributing to maintenance projects.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and supervise multi-disciplinary work teams during maintenance outages
Oversee contractor performance, ensuring compliance with site standards and safety systems
Monitor work progress, quality, and productivity to achieve project milestones
Participate in planning and scheduling meetings, providing practical input on scope, resourcing, and timing
Drive safe work practices and foster a culture of accountability and teamwork
Manage work fronts efficiently to minimise downtime and meet outage objectives
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery across all phases of the outage
About You
Proven supervisory or coordination experience within heavy industry, mining, or port operations
Strong leadership and communication skills, with a focus on safety and performance
Ability to interpret technical documentation, scopes of work, and maintenance plans
Confident managing contractors and collaborating across disciplines
Organised, proactive, and adaptable to changing schedules and priorities
