The Migration Support Program provides help and support to refugees, people seeking asylum, people in immigration detention and other people who are vulnerable as a result of migration.
About the role
The Coordinator – Housing provides housing and tenancy management services to refugees and humanitarian entrants establishing a new life in Australia. The role is responsible for managing properties adhering to the relevant State & Territory Residential Tenancies Act and program policies.
The Coordinator is also responsible for ensuring refugees secure long-term and sustainable tenancies for a diverse and broad range of communities. This role plays a critical role in the delivery of our services to refugees and humanitarian entrants and will work closely with our case coordination teams, volunteers and other partners.
About you
* Proven ability to work across multiple functions and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
* Ability to communicate and apply effective interview techniques to sensitively gain information from clients
* Ability to manage complex and sensitive issues
* Proven capacity to be adaptive and resilient and to work independently in a self-directed manner, and also as a member of a team.
* Demonstrated understanding of the complex needs of children and young people is desirable
* Excellent records management and general office administration
A Working with Children is a mandatory requirement for this role
