GiGi’s Diner is about to open its doors in the heart of Battery Point, bringing a fresh and modern take on the classic diner experience. We’re all about bold flavours, great coffee, good vibes, and creating a space where locals and visitors alike feel at home.
We’re searching for a creative, passionate, and hands-on Head Chef to lead our kitchen and bring GiGi’s Diner to life. This is your opportunity to shape the menu, build your team, and put your signature on a brand-new venue.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef ready to step up
- Creativity and flair – someone who loves reinventing diner classics with a contemporary edge
- Strong leadership and people skills – a team builder who leads by example
- Solid understanding of kitchen operations, cost control, and rostering
- Food Safety Supervisor certification (or willingness to obtain)
- A positive, can-do attitude and the drive to make GiGi’s a must-visit Hobart destination
Responsibilities
- Lead the kitchen operations of GiGi’s Diner
- Shape the menu and maintain a consistent, high-quality offering
- Build and mentor a kitchen team; plan rosters and manage performance
- Oversee cost control, inventory, and food safety standards
Qualifications
- Proven Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Solid understanding of kitchen operations, cost control, and rostering
- Food Safety Supervisor certification (or willingness to obtain)
