About the Role
In this position, you will manage a portfolio of high-risk, delinquent and written-off asset finance accounts. You'll analyse customer circumstances, negotiate sustainable solutions, and take decisive recovery and enforcement actions where required. Your day will include proactive customer engagement, legal recoveries work, liaising with solicitors, and ensuring all activity is compliant with relevant legislation and internal policies. You will also contribute to ongoing process improvements, support team members where needed, and play a key role in driving a high-performing, customer-focused collections environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of late-stage and high-risk accounts, ensuring timely and effective recovery action.
Complete inbound and outbound customer contact to negotiate sustainable payment arrangements.
Initiate and manage legal recovery processes including default notices, Statements of Claim, judgments, possession action, caveats, and enforcement strategies.
Analyse customers' financial positions and recommend recovery solutions including settlements, shortfalls, write-offs, and hardship options.
Liaise with external parties including solicitors, mercantile agents, liquidators and auction houses.
Manage written-off debt accounts, including skip tracing and following up on repossession outcomes.
Identify and elevate potential risks such as fraud, irregular activity or accounts likely to result in loss.
Provide insights to support improvements in arrears management and recovery strategies.
Ensure all activity complies with relevant legislation including NCCP, AML/CTF, Privacy and other applicable laws.
About You
You are an experienced operator who thrives in complex collections or legal recoveries environments. You bring strong negotiation skills, the ability to handle sensitive conversations, and an understanding of enforcement processes, litigation pathways and asset-based recovery strategies. With at least three years' experience in collections, recoveries or paralegal work, you are confident analysing financial situations and making sound decisions under pressure. You work well independently and in a team, demonstrate excellent communication and attention to detail, and bring strong stakeholder management skills. Your understanding of regulatory requirements, hardship processes and dispute resolution allows you to achieve fair and commercially sound outcomes.
