TQ

Established in 1986, Tenants Queensland (TQ) is a specialist state-wide community legal service providing free tenancy law advisory services for residential tenants.

We seek to represent the interests of all Queenslanders who rent their home and we pride ourselves in providing specialist advisory services to renters, advocating on their behalf and securing improvements to Queensland's residential tenancy laws.

TQ manages the Queensland Statewide Tenant Advice and Referral Service (QSTARS) programme – www.qstars.org.au and that's where you come in.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The TQ QSTARS HUB Tenant Advice Worker (part-time) plays a critical role in the delivery of expert, accurate and consistent tenancy advice to residential renters.

You will be a part of the Brisbane-based, statewide HUB contact centre team and supported by the HUB Coordinator and statewide training officer. The HUB contact centre aims to empower and support tenants and residents by providing high quality advice regarding tenancy law related issues and triaging matters to QSTARS regional offices and external referral services.

We're looking for our next QSTARS HUB superstar to support the statewide rental community.

YOU

With a commitment to the principles of social justice, you will support TQ's delivery of the QSTARS program by role modelling our values of empowerment and respect.

You will possess (or have the ability to rapidly acquire) knowledge of The Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008. The ability to relate to people from different cultural and socio-economic backgrounds is essential and a Degree level (or equivalent) qualification in a relevant field, such as social work or human services is desirable. Previous experience working in Social Welfare or other community services related sectors would be highly regarded.

You'll be a team player, you'll have highly developed verbal and written communication skills, who can work in a changeable environment to successfully achieve program outcomes and outputs.

You will be adaptable and bring a can-do attitude. You'll have the ability to work in a high demand contact centre environment and manage interactions with clients who may be experiencing personal distress.

Please submit your CV, copies of qualifications and a covering letter that addresses the requirements in the Position Description.

Applications close at 5pm on Tuesday 31 March 2026.

For an informal discussion, please feel free to contact our HUB Coordinator, Kris Ma on (07) 3832 9447 or
