Salary: $105,927 - $120,707 gross p.a. plus 12% Super plus 3.5% Civil Liabilities Allowance
35 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with the option of flexitime
Located at Council's Natural Disasters Office, Stewart Place, Nowra

About The Role

This role is responsible for managing and delivering a diverse range of infrastructure projects from planning through to completion. It involves coordinating design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with legislation and Council procedures while effectively managing time, cost, scope, risk, and quality.

The position also oversees site works, prepares project documentation and provides professional advice to support the delivery of high‑quality outcomes for the community across various asset types, such as roads, drainage, footpaths, recreational facilities and other civil infrastructure.

Reporting directly to the Senior Project Manager - Civil, the main duties of this role include:

Manage, and deliver at various stages, the planning, evaluation, estimates, design, and construction of a wide variety of infrastructure projects.
Preparation and implementation of WHS and Risk Management, Environmental Quality Management Plans (REF, SWMP), traffic control plans, Safe Work Method Statements.
Preparation of Briefs and tenders/quotations for the engagement of consultants and contractors and material supply.
Preparation of Project Management Plans.
Preparation of technical standards and maintaining quality control.
Administer contracts on Councils behalf in the role of the Superintendent or Superintendent's Representative.
Prepare accurate and concise progress reports for Council and other internal and external customers as required. Include recommended actions, budget compliance/non-compliance and any additional requested information.
Organise and undertake multiple projects to completion.

The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.

About You

To be successful in the position, you will have:

Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Construction management or equivalent qualification.
Current NSW General Construction Induction card (white card) or acceptable interstate alternative
Minimum NSW Class C driver's licence or equivalent licence valid in NSW
Proof of Australian residency or citizenship
Relevant experience in the design and construction of Civil Engineering projects, and project management experience.
Extensive experience in the development and management of Contracts for Civil Engineering projects.
Demonstrated ability to take a civil construction project from concept to completion.
Demonstrated experience in the interpretation and application of relevant legislation, standards and guidelines.
Experience which demonstrates compliance with an Organisation's WHS Policies and Procedures and relevant WHS Legislation, keeping up to date with changes to safety requirements relevant to managing the delivery of Construction and Maintenance Programs and Capital Works to ensure the health, safety and welfare of self, staff, customers, contractors and the public.
