AQWA Adventures is seeking enthusiastic and passionate Divemaster to deliver our Dive and Snorkel with Sharks programs.
This hands-on role involves preparing participants, supervising activities in-water, delivering engaging marine interpretation, and ensuring the safety, wellbeing and enjoyment of participants, staff and AQWA's animals.
You will also be responsible for maintaining dive equipment, adhering to strict safety standards, and providing exceptional customer service throughout the experience.
Key Responsibilities
Safely conduct Dive and Snorkel with Sharks programs in accordance with AQWA Adventures Program Handbook and AQWA Diving Operations Handbook
Ensure all health, safety and security requirements are met at all times
Act as First Aid Officer when required
Prepare, maintain and manage dive and snorkel equipment
Supervise participants in-water and conduct pre- and post-activity briefings
Deliver engaging marine interpretation and answer visitor questions
Ensure participants have a positive, memorable experience
Maintain the wellbeing of participants and AQWA's marine animals
Participate in ongoing training and professional development as required
Qualifications
SCUBA diving qualifications from a recognised agency (PADI or equivalent) to a minimum Divemaster level
Current and active PADI (or equivalent) membership
Current Divemaster insurance
Current and valid medical statement of fitness to dive
Current Apply First Aid certificate
Current WA Police Clearance and Working with Children Check
Current WA Driver's Licence
Sound knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements
Lively, enthusiastic personality with excellent communication skills
Quickly learn and assimilate information
Genuine passion for the ocean and marine life
Availability to work weekends, public holidays and school holiday periods
Ability to participate in emergency evacuation and first aid procedures
SCUBA Instructor qualification (PADI or equivalent)
Experience presenting information in fun and engaging ways to people of all ages
Strong passion for marine conservation and the marine environment
