The Safety & Injury Management Coordinator supports the implementation of workplace health and safety initiatives, manages workers’ compensation claims, and coordinates return-to-work programs. This role involves promoting hazard identification, ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, and fostering a culture of safety across the organisation.
We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with experience in injury management and WHS practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with managers, insurers, and regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities
* WHS Support & Compliance
o Assist in implementing WHS strategies, initiatives, and risk management frameworks.
o Maintain accurate documentation for WHS programs, including incident reports and regulatory notifications.
o Support staff and managers with fire safety and first aid compliance.
* Hazard & Risk Management
o Promote proactive hazard identification and risk reduction in the workplace.
o Support managers in risk assessments and serious injury investigations, including liaising with Worksafe Regulators.
* Injury Management & Return-to-Work Programs
Manage a wide variety of workers compensation claims with varying levels of complexity
o Liaise with injured employees, managers, medical professionals, and WorkCover case managers.
o Promote an early return-to-work culture by supporting employees through their rehabilitation journey.
* WorkCover Policy Management
o Facilitate timely implementation and renewal of WorkCover policies for new and existing locations.
o Collate and submit financial and wage data to insurers and brokers within renewal deadlines.
* Reporting & Administration
* Maintain comprehensive claims and rehabilitation documentation.
* Provide timely and accurate WHS reporting and contribute to monthly bulletins and newsletters.
Skills, Attributes, and Experience:
* Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent.
* Certification in Rehabilitation or Return-to-Work Coordination with practical experience.
* Strong understanding of WHS legislation and injury management processes.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively with managers, insurers, and regulatory bodies.
* Desirable: Queensland Fire Advisor Certification.
