About the role
This role is responsible for leading the delivery of complex capital projects and overseeing the City's annual capital works program.It provides strategic leadership to a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring seamless end to end project delivery through contemporary, high performing project management practices.
The role also plays a key part in shaping and reviewing the City's long term works program, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and future infrastructure needs.
Role Accountabilities Include:
Align programs with Council's strategic direction and community aspirations.
Apply political, social, and legal awareness to all initiatives.
Identify strategic risks and opportunities impacting the organisation.
Provide high level advice to stakeholders to enhance project planning and delivery.
Lead the delivery of the approved capital works program, ensuring innovation and risk mitigation.
Oversee project scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to meet technical, safety, and environmental standards.
Coordinate cross-functional teams and consultants to ensure cohesive project execution.
Inspire a culture of innovation, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
Promote cross-divisional collaboration for high-quality, cost-effective outcomes.
Foster a community-first approach through proactive stakeholder engagement.

Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or equivalent
