Log yard supervisor (sawmill) (caboolture)

AKD's Caboolture sawmill is strategically located between the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane's northside, forming part of AKD's leading national operations.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Logyard Supervisor to report to the Green Process Manager. The role will manage log yard activities, foster a zero-harm safety culture, and deliver solid performance outcomes through effective leadership and operational control.

• Manage and organise all Caboolture Debarker activities and processes to meet safety, quality, cost, and throughput targets.
• Lead, manage and continually develop personnel who report to this position, and develop operators to achieve high performance.
• Accountable for the safe and efficient management of all Logyard activities including residues handling, supervision of debarker employees, coordination of log grabs and truck movements, and maintenance of roadways and yard infrastructure.
• Coordinate between Forestry and Green Mill teams to ensure supply and inventory meet the site's needs.
• Monitor site residues to ensure compliance and manage constraints, identifying opportunities for increased volume, recovery, and value.
• Ensure all team members are appropriately qualified, SOP compliant, licensed, and trained for their roles.
• Support and liaise with maintenance, electrical and other service providers to enhance performance.

• Experience in sawmilling, forestry or production environments.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and ability to drive results.
• Knowledge of safety, quality, and operational best practices.
• Drug and alcohol testing, as well as functional capacity testing, may be required.
