About the Role
This is a Permanent Full-Time position at 1 FTE/80 hours per fortnight within the Pharmacy Department.
You will be responsible for the provision of a high-quality Clinical Pharmacy Services to wards at The Royal Children's Hospital along with some Outpatient rotations and Sterile Production. Early career pharmacists will have the opportunity to develop a portfolio of practice to enable progression to a grade 2 pharmacist. Rotations will include specialist areas such as general medicine, surgical, cardiology, neurology, gastroenterology, developmental medicine, neonatology, intensive care and metabolic medicine.
Classification for this position will range from Grade 1 Year 1 – Grade 1 Year 6 (SW5 – SW10, base salary $68,244.80 to $91,785.20 per annum, plus superannuation) or Grade 2 Year 1 – Grade 2 Year 4 (SX2 – SX5, base salary $94,478.80 to $106,906.80).
What You'll Achieve
* Develop and maintain clinical pharmacy expertise in specialist paediatrics.
* Involvement in projects and audits
* Be trained to perform sterile manufacturing.
* Assist with supervising and training pharmacy interns and students.
* There is the opportunity for Grade 1 pharmacists to transition to Grade 2 through development of a portfolio of practice.
* Classification for these positions will range from SW5-SX5 depending on qualification and experience.
Qualifications and Experience
* Registered to practice as a pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency & your name will appear on the register.
* Internship in Hospital Pharmacy (Grade 1)
* Significant experience in Hospital Pharmacy (significant for Grade 2)
* Active participation with professional bodies (Grade 2)
* Experience with undertaking audits or developing guidelines (Grade 2)
Other Requirements
* Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtain
* Valid Working with Children Check
* Compliance with RCHs "Staff Immunisation - Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases" procedure
* It is a requirement of your employment that you be vaccinated against Influenza annually for Category A and B roles, in compliance with any public health orders in place at the relevant time, unless you have a medical exception in line with those public health orders, which has been accepted by The Royal Children's Hospital.
* Applicants will be required to provide their Australian Government Immunisation History Statement, it is a requirement of the RCH to collect, record and hold vaccination information.
* It is also a requirement of your employment that you comply with any direction given by The Royal Children's Hospital that you be vaccinated against, or prove immunity to, any other disease, unless you have a relevant exemption, and offers of employment are conditional on successful completion of background checks including reference checks.
