About Your New Role
The role of a Suicide Prevention Support Services Manager is to oversee the day‐to‐day operations of the suicide prevention and postvention programs. The main mission of these programmes is to help a person stay safe and connect with existing health and community services during a period of high risk and vulnerability.
As the Suicide Prevention Support Services Manager you will support the team to provide non‐clinical assertive outreach follow‐up care and practical support to individuals directly after a suicide attempt or crisis.
This is a critical programme within our community and we want you to lead, coach and develop a team of Suicide Prevention and Aftercare Coordinators to deliver high‐quality support services.
The Programs
The Universal Aftercare (UA) Programme is a suicide after‐care service that has been developed to care for people discharged from hospital after a suicide attempt or crisis. The UA programme aims to prevent deaths by suicide by providing care coordination and supporting people to link with supports that help keep them safe and support recovery.
The After Suicide Support and StandBy Support After Suicide programmes provide bereavement support for individuals, families, friends, workplaces and communities following a loss by suicide.
Our Peer Workforce programme employs peer workers with a lived experience of suicidality or suicide bereavement to work alongside participants of The Way Back and After Suicide Support programmes.
What Do You Need
* Degree qualifications in a mental health profession (including accreditation with the appropriate professional body) and/or health service management or community development or equivalent experience.
* Extensive knowledge of clinical governance aspects of the service including human resource management, quality systems and risk management to ensure safe, effective service delivery.
* Experience in working with people experiencing suicidality or suicide bereavement or dealing with severe personal trauma.
* Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to support your team to connect with those in or after crisis.
* Evidence of Right to work in Australia.
* Willingness to undergo a National Police Records Check, Working with Children and NDIS Workers Screening Check and NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate.
* COVID‐19 vaccination with booster or valid medical exemption.
What We Will Offer You
* A purpose‐driven culture where people can thrive; everyone is respected and differences are valued.
* An equitable, diverse and socially inclusive work environment.
* Salary packaging up to $15,899 to allow you to spend a portion of your salary before it is taxed for items such as rent, mortgage repayments and car leasing.
* Meal and entertainment allowance via salary packaging up to $2,650 per annum.
* Receive 17.5% leave loading every time you take annual leave.
* Paid parental leave after 12 months of ongoing employment.
* Access for you and your family to our Employee Assistance Programme.
