Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Windows Desktop Engineer to join our team. This is a 12-month contract with extension and ACT onsite role.
* Key Responsibilities:
o Design, develop, maintain, and provide Level 3 support for standard operating environments including desktop software and device configurations (Windows desktops and iOS mobile)
o Enterprise messaging and collaboration platforms
o Remote access solutions (virtual desktop and VPN)
* Package and deploy applications across supported environments
* Manage automated patching and update processes
* Provide expert technical advice across platforms and services, and represent the team in ICT governance and management forums
* Resolve complex technical issues escalated from service desk and Level 2 support teams
* Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure smooth integration and policy compliance
* Develop and maintain documentation, including standard operating procedures and knowledge base articles
* Participate in planning and delivery of upgrades, migrations, and new service rollouts
* Monitor system performance and proactively implement improvements for reliability and scalability
* Mentor junior team members and contribute to ongoing service improvement initiatives
Required Skills and Qualifications
Technical Requirements:
* Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise (M365 ProPlus)
* Expert-level proficiency in Windows 11, Microsoft Intune, and Group Policy management
* Hands-on experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Mobile Application Management (MAM) using Intune
* Proficiency in Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM) and Intune, including SOE creation, application packaging, and patching
* Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality technical documentation
* Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD)
* Familiarity with Australian Government ICT security frameworks, including ISM, Essential Eight, and ACSC hardening guidelines
