Data Manager – Gippsland Radiation Oncology

The Department
The Alfred Health Radiation Oncology (AHRO) Department provides comprehensive cancer services. It comprises two units – Alfred Radiation Oncology (ARO) located in the South Block at The Alfred and Gippsland Radiation Oncology (GRO) at Latrobe Regional Health, Traralgon – delivering full‑range radiation oncology and therapy services, including specialised national services.
The Role
The GRO department has a vacancy for a part‑time (32 hours per fortnight) Data Manager. The successful applicant will maintain departmental databases for all patients attending the department and assist with related research projects.
Responsibilities
* Maintain and update departmental databases for patient and treatment records.
* Assist in the design, maintenance and analysis of data collection systems for clinical research.
* Ensure data integrity, security and compliance with relevant policies.
* Collaborate with clinical and research staff to support data‑driven decision‑making.
Qualifications and Experience Required
* Relevant tertiary qualification in Health, Science, Health Information Management or a related paramedical discipline.
* Experience in data management or clinical trials (desirable).
* Proficiency with hospital‑based or similar computer systems.
* Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
* Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organisational skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to develop, maintain and analyse databases and data collection systems.
