We are seeking a Project Manager to lead the delivery of a complex and high-profile water project at our Mount Isa operations. This fixed term position represents a rare opportunity to drive environmental outcomes that align with long-term management, stakeholder expectations, and regulatory compliance.
As a key member of the Surface Engineering team, you will be responsible for the overall project governance, leadership, and execution of the groundwater remediation project, covering final technical design confirmation, contractor engagement, procurement, construction, commissioning, and final handover. You'll bring strong project management expertise, technical engineering discipline knowledge (civil / mechanical), and environmental awareness to ensure this critical initiative is delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with business and legislative requirements.
This position can be based in Mount Isa or Brisbane.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the end-to-end project management, planning, coordination, and delivery of the groundwater remediation project.
* Manage the project scope, budget, and schedule to meet key milestones.
* Oversee final design and engineering, and development of scope of work packages, ensuring fit-for-purpose solutions aligned with environmental remediation strategies.
* Engage with internal stakeholders, discipline leads, environmental specialists, and external regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
* Manage contractor performance on-site and ensure all work is executed safely, and to specification.
* Report on project progress, risks, and controls to senior management.
* Drive technical and project excellence while actively managing scope change, procurement activities, and quality assurance.
About You
* Degree qualified in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, with RPEQ.
* Proven project delivery experience, ideally on infrastructure, civil, mechanical, or environmental remediation projects.
* Strong working knowledge of project management frameworks, risk management, and contract execution.
* Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
* Excellent communication and reporting skills, with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
* Familiarity with environmental compliance or remediation in a mining, industrial, or utility setting is advantageous.
* Prior experience in large scale pumping and piping projects.
