The role
We are looking for a Fitter/Operator to join Cargill's Crush, Refining and Packing Facility in Newcastle
As part of a small and autonomous team, you will be responsible for maintaining optimum asset health for plant equipment, systems and structures. Providing a diverse work environment, you will work independently on individual assignments and support on larger cross team projects, with the opportunity to learn and support across other plant areas.
Within a supportive team environment, you will work collaboratively and communicate with various teams across the plant and play an important role in safety and addressing near miss/incident conditions.
Working Monday - Friday typically 7am - 3pm. Works hours can be flexible.
Key accountabilities
- Perform facility and equipment repairs as directed from the maintenance work orders and maintain spare parts
- Perform preventative maintenance, lubrications, and inspections
- Operate and conduct maintenance in various process areas throughout the facility in a safe, efficient and result oriented manner
- identify repairs needed and submitting work orders to be scheduled
- Reporting information regarding subsequent work required, preventative maintenance issues and completion of Work Order documentation
Minimum Qualifications / Skills
- Experience in working with industrial equipment, including flaking, presses, and conveying equipment
- Experience in working within a Hazardous Area (desired)
- Experience in a manufacturing and process environments particularly food and beverage desirable
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
- _Commitment to service and performance excellence
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and proactively manage stakeholders and conflicting priorities
- Ability to prioritise tasks, use knowledge and initiative to problem solve promptly
- Flexibility with regards to working hours which may include overtime and weekends.
- Available to attend site after normal working hours as required when equipment failure or shutdowns dictate to ensure continuous production.
- Experience with trouble shooting and problem solving when working with industrial equipment, including pressing, flaking, pumps, and conveying equipment, fans, elevators, conveyors etc.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills
- Fitter Trade Certificate (TAFE or similar)
- Confined Space Entry
- Forklift Licence
- Working at Heights
- White Card
- Elevated Work Platform Licence (desirable)
- Lifting and Rigging (desirable)
