This position is full‐time (35 hours per week) and is a fixed‐term contract ending 31 December 2026. Remuneration is Level 7: $113,926 – $123,301 (plus 17 % superannuation and annual leave loading). Location: Kensington Campus, Sydney – Australia.

Why Your Role Matters

The Senior Project Officer, Academic Governance supports Faculty academic governance and curriculum management activities. Working closely with academics, professional staff and central Academic Administration teams, the role provides high‐level administrative and project support for UNSW's curriculum management systems ECLIPS and ECOS.

Reporting to the Manager, Academic Programs, this position contributes to the quality and integrity of academic programs by ensuring course and program proposals meet policy, governance and approval requirements. The role also collaborates across the Education Portfolio to support continuous improvement of systems, processes and customer experience at scale.

Responsibilities

* Act as a primary liaison for academic governance proposals, including new and revised course submissions, ensuring compliance with academic policies, processes and timelines.
* Provide high‐quality advice and support to stakeholders on academic proposal development, policy interpretation and use of ECLIPS and ECOS.
* Review, allocate and quality‐assure proposals within ECLIPS to ensure consistency, accuracy and alignment with governance frameworks.
* Coordinate proposal workflows, including committee feedback, requested changes and implementation of approved outcomes.
* Prepare documentation and record outcomes for Faculty committees as required.
* Contribute to broader academic programs and governance activities, such as Academic Program Reviews, Assurance of Learning, academic integrity initiatives, data analysis and reporting.
* Collaborate with colleagues across the Education Portfolio to drive continuous improvement in business practices and service delivery.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Bring

* A relevant tertiary qualification with substantial relevant experience, or equivalent competence gained through a combination of training and experience.
* Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex policies, rules and systems, and provide clear, accurate advice.
* Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills, with the ability to work autonomously and use initiative.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proven ability to build effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
* Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
* High‐level computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.
* An understanding of, and commitment to, UNSW's values, objectives and relevant policies.
