Senior Stakeholder Liaison Officer

* Temporary 3 days per week, part-time 0.6 FTE until 19/04/2027 (this date may change depending on start date)
* Location based at Parramatta with flexible working arrangement and need to come into Parramatta office occasionally
* Salary $129,464 to $142,665 base + super & annual leave loading.
About the role
New role designed to support the Home Schooling Directorate's efforts to build and maintain constructive, ongoing relationships with the home schooling community. This role facilitates effective two-way communication, fosters collaboration, and ensures stakeholder voices
meaningfully inform policy and regulatory decisions related to home education. In addition, the role provides expert advice on engagement initiatives, supports the Directorate's regulatory responsibilities, and assists with engagement activities aligned to home schooling values.
The role works autonomously to deliver stakeholder engagement strategies and resolve issues. Consults with manager on direction of work and key priorities and escalates complex or high-risk matters as appropriate. The role is empowered to provide independent advice, advocate for stakeholder perspectives, and challenge internal assumptions to support transparent and principled engagement.

About you
* Lead engagement and collaboration with stakeholders
* Navigate complex environments to build and manage productive, solution-focused relationships that support effective program delivery
* Implement engagement programs and monitor, report on, and evaluate stakeholder feedback, emerging issues, and risks, providing actionable insights and escalating matters as required.
* Coordinate stakeholder forums, workshops, and meetings to listen, gather input, build consensus, and foster inclusive participation and collaboration.
* Support recognition of home schooling as a legitimate and viable education choice in stakeholder engagement and program delivery activities.
* Support and enable co-design and consensus-building opportunities with the Home Schooling Consultative Group (HSCG) and the broader community, facilitating stakeholder contributions to meaningfully inform home education regulatory practice and policy.
* Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

* Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, service delivery coordination or issues management within a government or operational setting.
* Proven experience in designing, facilitating, or enabling co-design and consensus-building processes, particularly within complex regulatory or educational contexts.
* Demonstrated understanding of IAP2 Quality Assurance standards, AA1000 AccountAbility Principles, and Stakeholder Engagement Standard or equivalent demonstrated understanding of effective stakeholder engagement strategies and frameworks.
* Sound understanding or experience within home schooling environments, ensuring a deep appreciation of the unique perspectives and needs of the home schooling community.
