We have an opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our team at Oakfield Lodge, working within a large supportive Residential Care team.You will have the opportunity to be the difference whilst enjoying great rewards including salary packaging benefits, Bupa Health Insurance discounts, discounted gym memberships, and much more.About The RoleLiaising with the Care Manager and Residential Services Manager, you will direct and deliver high-quality nursing care to our clients.Key Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited ToLeading and supervising support provision for daily living in accordance with each resident's care/service plan.Leading and promoting social and physical engagement in all resident interactions.Assessing residents' conditions and functional abilities, ensuring risks are identified, managed, and evaluated, with discussions involving relevant staff, residents, or their representatives, and included in care and service planning.Ensuring optimal use of medications, monitoring for adverse effects, and administering medications safely and timely.Providing leadership, direction, support, mentoring, and coaching to support staff on each shift.Ensuring clear and concise shift handovers and accurate documentation, including progress notes, alert notifications, care plan updates, and risk management plans.Ensuring all staff read and comply with relevant policies, procedures, and work instructions.For further details regarding the scope of the role, please refer to our website or the attached position description.About YouWe are looking for people who will make a difference in the lives of our residents and clients.The Successful Candidate Will Possess The FollowingBachelor of Nursing with current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011) & Current CPR Certificate (HLTAID009).At least 1-2 years of experience working as a Registered Nurse in an aged care environment.Sound communication skills with a level of English literacy that enables clear communication with older people, as well as reading and writing skills for documentation.Exceptional time management skills to manage workload and support other staff.Outstanding problem-solving skills to balance supporting residents' independence with safety and duty of care.High-level understanding of supporting residents living with dementia, including challenging behaviors.Understanding of how to apply AN-ACC to ensure optimal funding levels.Excellent clinical knowledge, including medications used in aged care.Good knowledge of the Aged Care Standards, particularly regarding accreditation.About UsSouthern Cross Care is one of Australia’s leading charitable aged care and retirement living service providers.
