About the role
Location: Level 7/1 Martin Place, Sydney NSW 2000
Type: Full‐time position
As a Senior Analyst, you'll take ownership of the full R&D Tax compliance lifecycle while delivering high‐quality technical advice and exceptional client service. You'll work autonomously on engagements, collaborate with specialists across the firm, and contribute to process improvement initiatives as our practice continues to evolve.
You'll also have genuine exposure to business development, networking, and national knowledge‐sharing, making this an ideal role for someone ready to step into broader leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage end‐to‐end R&D Tax compliance engagements, including client meetings, documentation collation, technical analysis and report drafting
* Calculate eligible R&D expenditure and provide well‐reasoned advice on legislative positions adopted
* Research and interpret R&D Tax legislation, related regulations, and government guidance materials
* Manage and grow a portfolio of clients, including billing, cash collections and practice management tasks
* Mentor and support junior team members and contribute to national training initiatives
* Identify risk areas, process improvements and efficiencies across R&D and broader tax compliance
* Build and maintain strong internal and external networks, supporting business development activities
Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 including super, depending on experience
About you
You're a technically strong R&D Tax professional who enjoys combining analytical work with client interaction and leadership responsibilities.
You will bring
2-3+ years' direct R&D Tax experience in a similar role (experience with regulator reviews is advantageous)
Strong technical, scientific or legal writing capability
Proven ability to analyse legislation and provide clear, defensible advice
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines
Confidence working autonomously while contributing positively to a collaborative team
Demonstrated leadership potential with an interest in mentoring and practice management
* Degree in Science, Engineering, IT / ICT, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Tax or Law
* A double degree combining a technical discipline with Commerce, Accounting or Law is highly regarded
