Cook in paradise on the Southern Great Barrier Reef Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Line Chef to join our kitchen team.
About the Role:
This is a hands-on role in the kitchen, delivering buffet service for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You will work across all areas of service, including breakfast, lunch, dinner and desserts. Duties include:
* Preparing and cooking dishes to a high standard for buffet service
* Setup and replenishment of buffet stations
* Maintaining strict food safety, hygiene and allergen standards
* Supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chefs with daily operations
* Contributing positively to a collaborative kitchen team
* Bringing creative flair to menu offerings and presentation while maintaining consistency
What We're Looking For:
* Available for immediate start
* Commitment through the Christmas and New Year period (minimum)
* Completion (or willingness to complete) a Food Handlers Certificate and Food Allergen course
* Proven experience as a Chef in a busy kitchen with bulk cooking or buffet experience
* Strong attention to detail in both food preparation and presentation
* Creative freedom to showcase ideas within a team-driven kitchen
* Flexibility to work across all service times (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desserts)
* A strong team player with reliability and a positive attitude
Roster & Conditions:
* 10 days on, 4 days off roster
* Flights and accommodation included (single room, shared bathroom facilities)
* All meals provided
* Flights to and from Hervey Bay or Bundaberg
* Time off to snorkel and explore our stunning coral cay
