We are looking for a dynamic and commercially driven project manager who is passionate about finding efficiencies and building strong relationships with clients. This is an opportunity to strategically shape and make your mark on some of our largest and most important accounts! You will have opportunities to work closely with clients across a wide range of state and federal government organisations and NGOs.
The Role
The successful candidate will be part of a supportive team of 50 in Public Affairs spanning across our offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane, playing a key role in the end-to-end delivery of high-profile social research projects.
You will be working closely with our clients, and in partnership with the research team and fieldwork team, to deliver great studies that have a tangible impact on our clients’ work.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with and manage stakeholders
4. Collaborate with researchers and senior team members from the planning stage through to the final project deliverables, ensuring projects run efficiently to specification, time and budget.
5. Be a trusted point of contact for clients, managing client expectations and ensuring we stay in scope.
6. Be the main point of contact with Operations (the fieldwork team), suppliers and stakeholders.
With support from a director, responsible for leading and delivering large scale, complex projects
7. Resource planning – creating project plans, liaising with external teams and suppliers, managing risks and contingencies
8. Manage the process for delivering fieldwork techniques/sampling approaches
9. Work effectively at identifying and pre-empting challenges
10. Use and direct others in the application of project management techniques and tools
11. Implement efficiencies and effective ways of working
12. Provide regular financial performance updates to ensure all projects are delivered within budget agreed
13. Contribute to technical and analytical reporting (survey metadata)
14. Prepare costings and provide input (based on previous project actuals and experience) on pricing decisions
15. Survey design: liaise with client on expectations and anticipated outcome; advise on appropriate method of data collection to meet research objectives
16. Questionnaire design – providing input to refine questions from an operational perspective
17. Responsible for quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle, for ., responsible for delivering error free scripts/tables, ensure project related documentation is completed accurately and in accordance with Business Excellence standards

18. Contribute to drafting of social research proposals
19. Contribute to identifying new clients and opportunities
20. Constantly look for opportunities to improve processes, challenge status quo to create project efficiencies and cost effectiveness
21. Lead by example and be a positive role model to others
22. Ensure client satisfaction and represent Ipsos in a professional and ethical manner at all times
Skills & Experience :
23. Strong quantitative project management experience at a Project Manager or Senior Project Management level (essential)
24. Advanced ability to interpret and interrogate survey outcomes data and using that to understand job performance, identify issues and implement remedial actions. (essential)
25. Strong organisational skills – demonstrate flexibility, with proven ability to juggle multiple tasks to achieve team and business requirements (essential)
26. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (essential)
27. Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines (essential)
28. Experience managing project budgets to meet required profit targets (essential)
29. Able to lead effective project teams, which may be a geographically dispersed (essential)
30. Experience on social research, large-scale, quantitative studies especially travel surveys is highly advantageous
31. Experience with applying different quantitative data collection techniques, and experience with face-to-face methodologies desirable
32. Excellent attention to detail, including data checks and proofreading
33. Strong client management experience
34. Experience coaching and developing junior colleagues
35. Curiosity, eagerness to learn and a drive for continuous improvement
36. A can-do, solution-focused attitude
37. Proficient in using all Microsoft Office applications
38. A project management qualification is desirable but not essential
