Commissioning Lead (E&I Preferred)
Location: Karratha, Western Australia
Roster: FIFO 2/1 roster hour days on site (plus 30-minute unpaid break)
Contract Type: 12-month contract

About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Commissioning Lead to oversee the commissioning of a large-scale onshore process facility in Western Australia. The role involves leading a multi-disciplinary commissioning team across all engineering disciplines, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution from pre-commissioning through to handover.
Preference will be given to candidates with an Electrical and Instrumentation background, though experienced SMP professionals are also encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate all commissioning activities on-site, ensuring safe and effective execution in line with project objectives.
Promote strong HSE culture and drive safe working practices across all teams.
Develop and implement commissioning scopes, strategies, and procedures.
Prepare detailed plans including commissioning logic flowcharts, resourcing, and site management documentation.
Oversee commissioning readiness, including materials, permits, isolations, and documentation.
Manage system completions, handovers, and punch closure processes.
Liaise closely with engineering, construction, completions, and project controls teams to ensure milestones are achieved.
Forecast and manage risks and opportunities during the commissioning phase.
Report progress against plans and contribute to overall project delivery targets.
Maintain effective communication between onshore and office-based project teams.
Provide technical support during start-up and operational transition phases.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and uphold company policies, safety standards, and quality systems.
Skills And Experience
Degree or trade qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
Formal project management training (PMP or equivalent) desirable.
Minimum of 15 years experience in the oil and gas industry, with at least 10 years focused on onshore commissioning and construction.
Proven background in brownfield project commissioning and execution.
Experience working under permit-to-work systems and client operating environments.
Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with completions management systems.
Ability to lead and motivate multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Information

Occasional travel to client, vendor, or contractor sites may be required.
Extended hours may be necessary to meet project schedules.
