About Darlot
With over a century of mining history, Darlot is a cornerstone operation of Vault Minerals Limited producing high-grade gold production. With a strong legacy, Darlot is focused on the future, optimising production and driving exploration programs to extend the mine's lifespan and uncover new resources. The Darlot mine is located about 900 km northeast of Perth and 121 km north of Leonora, in the Goldfields Region of Western Australia.
Job Description
Reporting to the Geology Superintendent, the Senior Resource Geologist's primary role will be extending the Darlot Mineral Resource base by maintaining the geology, structural, and Mineral Resource models and through planning and supervision of drilling activities. This position will be offered on an 8 : 6 FIFO roster from Perth.
Key Responsibilities
Construct, optimise and maintain up to date orebody, lithology and structural models
Undertake the estimation of Mineral Resources in the Darlot Project area with guidance from the Principal Resource Geologist
Coach and mentor staff to ensure the Resource estimation practices, procedures, guidelines, site standard software and peer review processes are effective, current and in line with industry best practice standards
Liaise with the Project Geologist regarding diamond drill scheduling and interpretations for the extension of resources and reserves
Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly internal reports of resource and extensional drilling updates
Actively participate in QAQC processes, laboratory audits, and ensure database validity and JORC compliant datasets
About You
Tertiary qualification in Geology (BSc. Geology or Applied Geology)
Minimum of 4+ years of post-graduate experience in an exploration or production environment, preferably in narrow vein mining, along with at least 2 years of experience in resource estimation. Previous experience with gold deposits is highly regarded.
Membership of professional body (AusIMM or AIG)
Advanced proficiency with computer software, notably Vulcan (or similar), Leapfrog and Snowden Supervisor
Demonstrate an understanding of 3D modelling techniques and Exploration and Resource Definition program design and execution
Excellent knowledge of the statutory requirements of the Western Australian Mining Act and Regulations, as well as the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act
Hold a WA C Class Driver Licence
