Our client is a privately owned Australian real estate company focusing on developing and managing retail and logistics real estate assets for high-net-worth investors in high growth regions.
A unique opportunity exists for a full time ESG Manager to join the growing success and become a part of a vibrant working environment. Working with all functions of the clients team, this role will allow you to showcase your existing skills and further develop your career with a great company.
You will focus on:
- Head the Implementation of all aspects of the ESG Framework (effective from July 1) In particular actions for year 1 and report back to CEO and Board.
- Lead the management of the ESG Framework across all business functions ongoing.
Lead the client's ESG initiatives across Development, Asset Management & Finance:
- Work alongside the Development / Asset team whilst the client strive to achieve 6-Star Green Star rating on pipeline projects.
- Work alongside the Finance & Funds Management team in ensuring the framework Is fit for purpose and reporting correctly to satisfy requirements of the client's debt providers and equity partners.
- Be responsible for corporate ESG reporting and partnering with the wider business in promoting ESG best practice in all business areas.
- Progress the client's path to Net Zero through championing the ESG framework. This Includes developing and executing corporate sustainability Initiative and strategies.
- Develop and execute an overall program management and change management strategy related to business processes.
Key responsibilities will include:
Manage business ESG reporting requirements and implement initiatives to support meeting local targets. Reporting annually publicly and a bimonthly program to the board.
- Identify opportunities to improve ESG at a corporate and client portfolio level.
- Design and implement best practice ESG initiatives to support the business in delivering value add to developments & assets.
- Provide ESG thought leadership and employee education to increase awareness and engagement.
- Work collaboratively with the business providing expertise on ESG across all functions.
- Establish budgets with finance team for ESG Implementation.
- Identify fee generating consulting opportunities for the provision of services.
- Promote the client's ESG capabilities and thought leadership.
- Establish strong working relationship with GBCA, Climate Active and other organisations.
Ideal Background / Skills:
At least 5 years' experience within a sustainability field.
- Experience in the commercial real estate industry.
- Strong, illustrated, understanding in managing and interpreting sustainability data, including energy, water, waste & carbon data.
- Understanding of rating tools such as Green Star, NABERS, GRI and associated requirements.
- Experience in design and delivery of sustainability initiatives in property.
Strong communication skills that enable you to work in a collaborative environment and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
